Firefighters are tackling an undergrowth fire near a boat yard in Yarmouth this morning (Friday).
Appliances from Newport and Freshwater are on scene at the River Yar Boatyard, at Saltern Wood Quay off Gas Works Lane, where a bonfire has spread and set alight to an area around 35x35m in size.
It was just before 10:00 that Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service was alerted to the developing situation, prompting the mobilisation of appliances.
Hose reel jets are being utilised to douse the flames and bring the situation.
Limited water supplies in the area have led to a water carrier being mobilised.

Why the hell would you have a bonfire in this weather? Some people are stupid?
Is the wide boy at yarmouth tyres doing some recycling?
More bends than a plate of spaghetti that place.
