The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service are tackling a fire outside a property on the outskirts of Yarmouth this morning (Sunday).
1 appliance from Freshwater is in attendance at Cranmore Avenue, where black smoke can be seen billowing into the sky.
A water carrier from Freshwater is also en-route to the incident.
2 breathing apparatus wearers are using a hose reel to tackle the blaze, which is thought to involve a car.
The alarm was raised just before 11:30.
UPDATE @ 12:56 – Firefighters have successful extinguished the car fire, which has totally destroyed a Toyota Rav4.
As well as tackling the blaze, crews have worked to protect a nearby gas tank.
1 male is being treated in hospital for burns to his hand.
