The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service are attending a fire at a residential property in Niton this afternoon (Monday).
2 appliances from Ventnor and Newport are on scene at Rectory Road, close to the village shop, having been called out at around 15:30.
Island Echo is told that a log burner is thought to be the cause of the alert.
Crews are currently tackling the chimney fire.
The road remains open in both directions at present.
UPDATE – The fire has now been extinguished and crews are standing down.
