Firefighters have been sent to a suspected fire in the laundry room of a housing complex in Ventnor this afternoon (Friday).
2 appliances from Newport and Shanklin are on scene at Knights Court on the High Street having been mobilised to reports of a fire within the building at around 12:25.
However, initial investigations have established that there appears to be no fire present. Island Echo understands a hose has disconnected from a machine, leading to steam filling the room.
Crews, who had readied themselves in breathing apparatus, are now standing down from the incident. A duty officer is also standing down.
