UPDATED: Firefighters are tackling a car fire in Ryde this morning (Wednesday).
1 appliance from Ryde Fire Station is currently in attendance at Park Road, where a fire has developed in the engine bay of a Peugeot estate.
The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service were alerted to the incident at the junction with Barfield at 09:53.
Paramedics have also been called to the scene the check over the occupant(s) of the venicle.
Southern Vectis buses on Routes 2, 3 and 8 are unable to serve Ryde Library until further notice. Buses will divert via Dover Street and Monkton Street.
UPDATE @ 11:30 – Park Road has re-opened in both directions. Buses have returned to a normal route.
