The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service are attending a small incident at Ryde Pier this lunchtime (Wednesday).
2 appliances and a Land Rover 4×4 are currently on scene at the seafront location, but there appears to be no major concerns and no firefighting taking place.
Firefighters have driven the 4×4 vehicle up the pier and are inspecting the railway section of the structure around two-thirds of the way up.
South Western Railway staff are also in attendance.
Waves are crashing over the pier as high tide clashes with strong, gusty winds.
UPDATE @ 12:58 – Fire crews are now starting to stand down from the incident.
