The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service has been called in to assist Police and local undertakers in removing a body from a block of flats in Ryde this afternoon (Wednesday).
A number of Police officers have been present at a housing complex on Dover Street for several hours, alongside a team of undertakers wearing protective clothing.
Now, as children head home from a local primary school, an aerial ladder platform and fire appliance from Ryde have arrived on scene to assist with the removal of the deceased individual through a 1st floor window.
Hampshire Constabulary has been approached for a statement, but there are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances to the death.

At this stage the death is being treated as non-suspicious.
Police were called to the incident at 11:52 this morning.

We all have a date when we die as we do when we are born, it’s just that we don’t know when it is, we just hope we can go peaceful with our loved one’s present.
Sadly it’s not going to happen for some of us, sad moments like this always make us realise we don’t know what’s around the corner…
Wow that’s a weirdo comment!!
Anon, perhaps you should take a long look in the mirror! Then I think you will see a real weirdo.
To paraphrase the bard, me thinks you doth protest too much…..
“We all have a date when we die …, it’s just that we don’t know when it is”
so what you’re saying, Clare, is that it doesn’t matter what we do,.. whether we live healthily (e.g. diet & excercise) or eat & drink to excess & do f.all excercise & it makes no difference to when we die? we have no control over our destiny?
RIP to the man concerned & condolences to his friends & familly
Daemy, we still have a date no matter how we live our lives, healthy lives can prolong life and unhealthy lifestyles can shorten life, but we still have a date..
Even living a healthy lifestyle doesn’t guarantee a long life, we never know what’s round the corner…
I totally agree
It can’t be long before Cliff Richard croaks – what a day of celebration that will be!
It’s a very scary thought. You have no idea if it’s just an eternal pitch black dream or if you wake up another person.
W.T.F what is a happening to the isle of wight is used to be a lovely place to live
What does the Isle of Wight have to do with the fact someone’s died? I still don’t understand why people still believe the myth of the IoW is like a magical island where nothing bad ever happens. We don’t know how this bloke even died weather is be natural causes, accident, maybe even murder although I doubt it.
I don’t know but I feel bad for the poor guy its a young age to die at unless you have something seriously wrong with you but like I said before it was a lovely place to live
RIP u were a lovely person in glad i made friends with u, u were soo lovely kind n would do anything for anyone, we used to talk to you most morning , you will b missed by everyone RIP xxxxx
