Thankfully, it has transpired that the alert is a false alarm.

Tactical Advisor Leighton Bryant has confirmed to Island Echo that inspections have been carried out in the zone indicated by the alarm system and throughout the building, but nothing has been found.

Guests were evacuated for a short while but have since been allowed to return to their rooms.

Fire crews have now stood down from the incident.
