UPDATED: Fire crews from Freshwater and Shanklin are responding to a house fire on Camp Road in Freshwater this afternoon (Monday).
It is believed 1 female occupant has been able to escape from the bungalow property uninjured.
Firefighters are entering the property with breathing apparatus.
UPDATE @ 15:15 – The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service have now stood down from the incident.
It is understood a passing pedestrian raised the alarm shortly after 14:00 after seeing smoke issuing from the building.
Firefighters have ventilated the property using positive pressure ventilation.
The fire appliance from Shanklin never arrived at the scene as it was re-mobilised to the fire at the Isle of Wight College.
