The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service has been called to a shed fire at Whiteley Bank near Wroxall this morning (Thursday).
Firefighters from Shanklin, Ventnor and Newport were mobilised to a property near the mini-roundabout at around 07:55. A fire duty officer is also in attendance.
Southern Vectis is advising that due to emergency services restricting the flow of traffic, delays are likely to Route 2 buses.
The road remains open under ‘give and take’.
UPDATE @ 08:50 – Firefighters, donned in breathing apparatus, have successfully used hose reel jets to tackle the fire at the rear of a residential property.
A conservatory on an adjoining property has suffered fire damage as a result of the fire spreading from the shed. The boundary fence between the 2 properties has also been charred.
Engineers from Scottish & Southern Electricity Networks are now in attendance.
Fire crews are now making up in preparation to stand down from the incident.
