The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service are tackling a field fire on the outskirts of Newport this afternoon (Monday).
2 appliances from Newport, a 4×4 from Ryde and a water carrier from Freshwater have been called to the scene off the Camp Hill prison estate.
A member of the public alerted fire control to the developing situation at just gone 14:00.
Firefighters have worked swiftly to bring the fire under control and therefore appliances are starting to be released from the incident.
An area measuring around 40m x 15m has been affected, which includes haybales.
The cause is unknown.
