The Isle of Wight’s emergency services have responded to a minor road traffic collision at Knighton Shute this morning (Monday).
2 fire appliances – from Ryde and Newport – were called to the collision involving a Mercedes-Benz A-Class and a Suzuki Vitara at around 10:30.
The Isle of Wight Ambulance Service also responded to the scene with a rapid response car, an ambulance crew and an ambulance officer.
Thankfully, no one has been injured in the incident with damage to the vehicles only.
It’s understood one car slowed to allow a large lorry to pass by, which in turn resulted in the second vehicle colliding with the rear quarter panel and coming to a stop on the grass verge.
Emergency teams are now standing down from the incident.
Although the road is currently closed in both directions it is expected to re-open shortly.
