The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service have responded to reports of a fuse box fire at a hotel in Sandown this morning (Wednesday).
3 appliances – 1 from Shanklin and 2 from Ryde – were mobilised to Oyo Marina on Culver Parade at 07:23, alongside the Incident Command Unit from Newport.
Thankfully, the Shanklin crew were able to quickly establish that a minor electrical fire had broken out and the situation was swiftly brought under control.
All other appliances have now stood down from the incident and returned to station.
The fire service remain on scene awaiting the arrival of engineers from Southern and Scottish Electricity, according to fire control.
Culver Parade remains open to traffic.

Sandown Fire Station off the run again ?
So pleased no one hurt, but it looks like a dive !
Shame it didn’t burn to the ground and done the area a favour!!!!
I expect that is what the ‘owner’ is thinking too. Others have had more ‘luck’.
They were lucky with all the rubbish in there, do I spot solvents to the left, maybe the HSE need to pay them a visit
