The Isle of Wight has been divided in half this morning (Friday) with a blanket of snow covering the west, but barely a snowflake to be seen in the east.
Snow moved in last night bringing a blanket of the white stuff to around three quarters of the Island. The worst hit areas were central and western areas with major towns like Newport and Freshwater seeing a solid covering.
Although it snowed for a time in the East Wight, in towns such as Ryde, Brading and Sandown, by first light it had largely cleared away.
Things are starting to return to normal this morning. Follow our live updates at https://www.islandecho.co.uk/snow-fall-brings-disruption-to-the-isle-of-wight/.
