A head-on collision between 2 cars in Ryde led to a driver being assisted from their vehicle by firefighters earlier today (Saturday). Emergency services were called to Upton Cross – the roundabout junction of Carter Road, Stroudwood Road, Upton Road and Gatehouse Lane – at just before 16:30. A Honda CRV and a red Vauxhall collided just off the roundabout on Carter Road. Thankfully, no serious injuries were sustained in the low-speed crash, but precautions were taken in extricating the driver from the Vauxhall. 2 fire appliances, ambulance crews and Police all responded. The road was closed for a short time but has since reopened.
