Marshcombe Shute on the outskirts of Brading has been closed by Police this morning following a road traffic collision, believed to involve cyclists taking part in the IW Randonee.
Emergency services were called to the scene shortly before 10:50 this morning to reports of a collision involving a car and an unknown number of cyclists just after the railway bridge at Yarbridge.
One person has been rushed to hospital by land ambulance (pictured), however their condition is unknown.
UPDATE @ 12:20 – The road remains closed this lunchtime indicating the seriousness of the incident.
UPDATE @ 14:20 – Marshcombe Shute, Yarbridge has now reopened to traffic, according to Island Roads.
Island Echo understands emergency services attended a RTC in Brighstone this morning, however the circumstances of this incident are unknown.
