CYCLISTS INVOLVED IN BRADING RTC

20130505-114227.jpgMarshcombe Shute on the outskirts of Brading has been closed by Police this morning following a road traffic collision, believed to involve cyclists taking part in the IW Randonee.

Emergency services were called to the scene shortly before 10:50 this morning to reports of a collision involving a car and an unknown number of cyclists just after the railway bridge at Yarbridge.

20130505-114209.jpgOne person has been rushed to hospital by land ambulance (pictured), however their condition is unknown.

UPDATE @ 12:20 – The road remains closed this lunchtime indicating the seriousness of the incident.

UPDATE @ 14:20 – Marshcombe Shute, Yarbridge has now reopened to traffic, according to Island Roads.

Island Echo understands emergency services attended a RTC in Brighstone this morning, however the circumstances of this incident are unknown.
