FOUND: Missing Mia Lupton has been found safe and well tonight (Saturday).
Concerns are growing for missing 14-year-old teenager Mia Lupton from Ryde, who may now be in the Birmingham area.
Mia was last seen getting off a ferry in Southampton at 14:30 yesterday afternoon (Friday), as previously reported by Island Echo. She has not been in touch with her family since yesterday which is said to be very out of character.
According to those concerned family members, the young teen is thought to be with a man in his 20s who she met online. Mia’s sister has taken to social media to appeal for information as to the duo’s whereabouts amid fears she has been groomed.
Police have this afternoon issued 2 additional photographs of Mia in a bid to locate her as soon as possible.
Mia is described as white, 5ft 2ins tall, of a slim build withvery long blonde hair, which has some pink colour in it. She was last seen wearing grey or black trousers and a black puffa-style coat.
Officers investigating Mia’s disappearance now believe that she may have travelled to the Birmingham area.
Inspector Rob Abel said:
“We are growing increasingly concerned for Mia’s safety the longer she is missing, so we would like to hear from anyone who thinks they may have seen her, or heard from her, since yesterday afternoon.
“We have had a great response from the public so far, helping to share our appeal, so thank you to those who have.
“Mia, if you are reading this, please get in touch with either your family or us, so that we know that you are ok.”
UPDATE @ 16:28 – Mia’s family say that the 20-year-old man wanted in relation to Mia’s disappearance has been arrested this afternoon.
It is now thought that Mia was ‘left’ in the Croydon area of London.
