Concerns are growing for the welfare of Keith McLoughlin, who hasn’t been seen since late last night (Wednesday).
Keith was captured on CCTV at 23:30 on Downend Road near Arreton but it’s not known where he went from there.
Police are yet to issue a formal appeal for help in locating the missing Arreton man, who is said to have left home without his car, keys, wallet or mobile phone.
WightSAR – the Island’s volunteer search and rescue organisation – has been called in to support officers with a local area search.
A search is commencing near to Burnt House Lane at Downend with the specialist teams looking around a nearby quarry and across downland.
The family and authorities are concerned for Keith’s welfare given his state of mind last night, prompting Keith’s brother to issue a social media appeal.
Hampshire Constabulary are yet to issue an appeal.
UPDATE @ 14:35 – It has been confirmed by the family that sadly Keith Mcloughlin’s body has been discovered near Arreton this afternoon.
Next of kin have been informed and a file is being prepared for the coroner.
Search teams are now standing down from the incident.
