2 Coastguard Rescue Teams and Cowes RNLI responded to reports of a person crying for help in the River Medina at Cowes during the early hours of this morning (Wednesday).
Bembridge Coastguard Rescue Team, Ventnor Coastguard Rescue Team and Cowes RNLI’s inshore lifeboat were tasked at just gone 01:30 after it was reported to Solent Coastguard that a person may have been in the water.
A search was carried out on both sides of the river in the vicinity of the Floating Bridge slipway, but nothing was found.
The Coastguard has since received further information suggesting all persons are safe and no one was in difficulty.
