HM Coastguard and the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service are assisting an unwell patient on board a yacht at Newport Quay tonight (Saturday).
Coastguard Rescue Officers from Ventnor Coastguard Rescue Team have been mobilised to the scene on the east side of the River Medina.
It’s at the quayside that a stretcher is being used to move the patient from the moored yacht to the awaiting ambulance.
The medical evacuation has been made easier by the state of the tide and easy access to the yacht by means of a pontoon.
