A section of coastal path between Bembridge and Culver Down has been severed by a landslip at Whitecliff Bay.
A large chunk of the cliff has fallen away to the east of Sandhills Holiday Park, resulting in a large void in the footpath which is popular with walkers. The area is now impassable.
Several tonnes of debris has fallen onto the beach below but thankfully the Wonky Cafe has not been damaged and no persons have been injured.
It is thought the collapse occurred sometime between Sunday afternoon and Monday morning following a week of heavy rain.
The Isle of Wight Council’s Rights of Way team have closed the Public Footpath BB10.
HM Coastguard have been made aware of the incident.

I was going to walk that path on Sat. Will probably just cut through Sandhills and rejoin on the other side. Simples.
Yesterday I walked on that path until we saw the landslide we got great photos but you are able to still do the walk but just cut into the holiday camp
