Firefighters from Ryde came to the rescue of a telecoms engineer who found himself stuck around 30ft in the air earlier this afternoon (Wednesday).
The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service were called to Corbett Road, close to the junction with Playstreet Lane and Play Lane, at around 14:00 when BT Openreach engineers reported a cherry picker had jammed, leaving a staff member high in the sky.
1 pump was mobilised to the scene and the crew used a ladder to rescue the individual. The Aerial Ladder Platform from Ryde was also mobilised to the scene but was not required.
A further appliance from Newport was also mobilised to the incident, but the situation had been dealt with prior to their arrival.
No one was injured.
