Firefighters were called to help evacuate a casualty from a property in Newport during the early hours of this morning (Friday).
2 crews from Newport Fire Station were mobilised to Lugley Street shortly before 03:30 to assist colleagues from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service.
An aerial ladder platform was used to take the injured individual – thought to be a male with a possible neck injury – out through a second floor window.
After carefully lowering the immobilised casualty to the ground he was transferred into an awaiting ambulance and conveyed to St Mary’s Hospital.
