SEVERAL cars have been damaged following an act of vandalism in Ryde.
Officers from Hampshire Constabulary are calling on the public to help identify whoever was responsible for criminal damage to cars parked in Monkton Street, Ryde at the weekend.
The town’s Safer Neighbourhoods team has received reports of at least five crimes so far from motorists where wing mirrors were removed.
PC Martin Rogers of the Ryde Safer Neighbourhoods team said: “This mindless vandalism is estimated to have caused several thousands of pounds of damage.
“A man wearing a hooded top was seen acting suspiciously in the area overnight between Friday 27th April and Saturday 28th April.
“Someone knows who was responsible and we’re appealing for anyone with information about their identity to contact police or Crimestoppers.”
