The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service are attending a vehicle rollover on Rowborough Lane, Brading this morning (Monday).
2 appliances from Ryde are on scene outside Brading Cricket Ground, where a Renault hatchback has come to a stop upside down on its roof.
It was initially feared the driver was trapped but he has been able to free himself from the wreckage with the assistance of other motorists and local contractors.
The incident occured at just before 08:15.
The road remains open in both directions, albeit with delays.
UPDATE @ 08:37 – The Isle of Wight Ambulance Service have arrived on scene with an ambulance crew and a duty officer. The driver is now being assessed by paramedics.
Police are also on scene at this time but the fire service are being stood down.
UPDATE @ 12:20 – The vehicle has been recovered and the scene cleared.
Island Echo understands that the vehicle was involved in a collision with a grass cutter.
