NEWLY QUALIFIED DRIVER ROLLS CAR INTO FIELD NEAR HAVENSTREET

A car has left the carriageway and rolled into a field on the outskirts of Havenstreet village this evening (Monday).

The small hatchback – a Volkswagen Polo – has sustained significant damage in the incident on Stroudwood Road, between Upton and Havenstreet.

No one is thought to have been injured in the single-vehicle crash, which occurred shortly before 18:30.

The car was being driven by a local driver who only passed his test 6 weeks ago.

No emergency services are present at the scene and the road remains open in both directions.
