UPDATED: Firefighters are attending a car fire at the Fairway Holiday Park in Sandown tonight (Saturday).
2 appliances from Sandown and Newport were mobilised to the scene off Perowne Way at just before 21:30 following reports of 2 vehicles alight.
The first crew on scene have established that in fact just 1 vehicle is alight, resulting in the Newport crew being stood down.
2 breathing apparatus and a hose reel are being used to extinguish the fire.
The vehicle, a Renault, has been destroyed. The cause is unknown.
UPDATE SUNDAY – Hampshire Constabulary have confirmed they are treating the incident as arson.
