Yet another single car accident
And another single idiot…
That single idiot happens to be my dad so don’t speak ill of someone who might’ve died, he had a family as well ya know! Only because he was driving too fast and crashed, you don’t have a clue what his family is going through so don’t go saying “single idiot” not knowing how that may or may not affect the family checking up on this sight.
Very true sid
It would appear from what your saying, your dad was driving too fast? I hope you and your family are ok.
I’m glad no other family are efected by this…
Glad that your dad escaped any life threatening injury and hope he makes a speedy recovery. But not driving to the conditions is not a clever thing to do. So I can see why some may refer to him as an idiot.
Let me guess are we going to hear from the usual lot on here moaning about it’s the drivers fault as per the norm….ohhh hang no we won’t cause the car aquaplaned off the road
Allegedly aquaplaned of the road, Aquaplane at under 30mph you’d probably just hit the kerb.
You obviously don’t know how aquaplaning happens do you.
Dip stick!!!!
Who u calling dipstick lol
What does LOL mean?
Try speaking English…
Lol laugh out loud u clearly don’t tx
Ok boomer
I was in the pool when it happened, came outside to see it…glad hes okay
multiple police 2 ambulances a duty officer and 2 fire appetences its a bit like ww3 has started
You know nothing about trauma protocols. Just be glad if you’re ever in need of us, we respond.
OK another RTA on the Island and it was everyone’s but the drivers fault! OK if the road was that bad why is there not more cars piled up with this vehicle! NO it was down to the driver again! lets admit for once that you drive to the conditions of the road and weather not stick your boot down and blame everyone else for your stupidity! O Dear my car aquaplaned and rolled several times and ended up in its current state. I am just glad this happened when it did and not when the Holiday makers were there with children playing during the day!
Well said, unfortunately the usual snowflakes will make their usual excuses for idiots….
Unless your there how can your account be accurate. People always assume they know exactly what happened, A number of circumstances could have caused this. Opnions are not facts No one had the right to condem without proof.
Im sorry but the facts are it was wet it was windy and to lose a car like that by driving within the speed limit takes one hell of lot of fate unless the drivers attention was taken from the road due to a mobile device or even speed! you still cannot see how there is no other cars piled up with this person in a heap against the building! The people I want to praise is the poor old emergency service whom time and time again come to their rescue! by the way they aren’t piled up with this guy at the bottom of the hill are they! No because they drive at speed and take the conditions into account!
It’s was a tornado or maybe hurricane
Swerved so as to avoid a Duck or Swan. Quick, let’s ban all bird life would then be the response. Phil knows the real reason, as you all do.
I am sure he will be along to remind those whose memory isn’t all it ought to be.
More like quick lets use the break, if the idiot was driving within the speed limit it would not be possible to endup like this…..
Idiot., such a strong word … he’s my dad 🙂 he almost died. I could’ve lost my dad and you guys are out here moaning about him not having a clue what’s going on, he was driving away from an argument he had with my mother is you really need to know, so stop throwing accusations and grow up you uncultured twit.
Now we’re getting somewhere! ‘Driving away from an argument’ – at speed, no doubt!!
Anonymous, I totally understand your hurt, but if I wher you I would keep Stum, because if the police read what you have said your dad could be in a lot of trouble..
Or brain dead idiot!
Clare, you seem to be illiterate, and really, why do have to be so unpleasant with your ignorant comments?
well, well, well…. a driver, not in the right state of mind, driving at speed, because of being in an aggressive state of mind, due to an argument with someone else, prior to getting into the car.Clearly his focus was not on the road ahead and on the argument he had been having.
Therefore this accident is down to “driving without due care and attention” , failing to drive to the conditions of the road, endangering the lives of others, because of careless and erratic driving. – Someone could have been walking out of that pool entrance.
and people have the nerve to make excuses. Should have gone for a walk, cleared his head, then got in his car. Selfish and arrogant, …no wonder he had been having an argument with someone, was probably in the wrong there as well.
Unless you witnessed it and know what happened just shut up all of you that know so much! What if it was your relative? Get the facts then make your comments. Or get a life!
Shut-up snowflake!..
There’s no information about the driver or the speed the car was travelling so this could easily have been a genuine mishap in bad driving conditions and it’s a bit unfair to berate the driver.
The only reason people are so intolerant towards this incident is because it is yet another single vehicle, apparently single occupant, accident and a lot of them, perhaps the majority, seem to be down to avoidable bad driving.
It would be interesting to see the statistics relating to age and experience, speed, skid marks left on the road and any other criteria used by thevauthorities and insurance companies.
Aqua planning occurs when water is built up between the tyre and road surface. For this to cause issues one or more of three factors are needed. ONE tyres lack of decent tread, OR the road surface is so smooth and flat (hardly likely since Island roads cheap tar mac), OR excessive speed, sharp steering etc.
I am SURE he was not the ONLY driver that night, so one or more of the above is ‘the’ reason.
Comment boxes are FOR discussion, otherwise admit would remove them and just print facts.
Speed,speed,speed…..it was a therty speed limit!!!
Do u mean thirty clare?
Yes Mike, that’s what I ment to say..
If u spent as much time on your spelling as you do posting negative comments your spelling would be on point
Correct Az this is supposed to be a discussion. However abuse and accusations and total lack of respect for another’s opinion is not a discussion. There is a reason for every ‘ accident ‘, everyone can have an opinion, however hiding behind your true identity on social media and abusing and bullying are the act of a coward.
Seriously mate. There’s a really good team of lads at the Monkton st carwash.
More bad driving on the I o w
Omg you are mainly a bunch of pointless people
Now that a relative of the injured person is reading this and has said there are mitigating circumstances surrounding this incident, I think it would be prudent of Island Echo to delete the whole thread.
HELLO – ISLAND ECHO – CAN YOU HEAR ME – DELETE THE WHOLE THREAD PLEASE – PUT PROFITS TO ONE SIDE FOR A MOMENT AND THINK ABOUT COMPASSION INSTEAD
Couldnt agree more well said bob
This is a public forum and people are permitted to make comments – almost every article is about a person, positive or negative – if the echo removed every article in case a relative read it, then there would be no news and no comments.
You and the relatives have the freedom to choose not to read the article or the comments – make use of that choice instead of expecting global censorship. Newsflash – the world doesn’t revolve around you and you are not the centre of the universe.
I wish you lot would learn to spell before you post on this site
wot arr ewe reefurring two eggsaktlee reemuss? Beeingabel too spel propally isant allwayse an indikateor ov sumwunz inteleejantz 🙂
We are too thick,
I couldn’t have put it better myself.
Due to all of you being selfish and putting things that may be twisting things why don’t you have hard feelings for what the family are going through then yourselves :/
