Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue are tackling an unattended bonfire within woodland near Adgestone on the outskirts of Sandown tonight (Tuesday).
1 appliance from Sandown was mobilised just before 22:20 to reports from a member of the public of a fire seen in the vicinity of Lower Road in Adgestone.
It didn’t take long for the crew to locate the fire, which has now been confirmed as being a bonfire.
Firefighters have extinguished the flames but are continuing to work to turnover and dampen down the area close to Fairway Holiday Park off Golf Links Road.
The incident is not being treated as suspicious.
