Royal Navy Bomb Disposal experts were called to Motherbank, in the Solent between Ryde & Cowes this afternoon (Thursday) after being alerted to the discovery of an unexploded World War 2 bomb.
The discovery of the bomb was made by local fisherman Wayne Long where it was trawled and lifted to the vessel.
Experienced with such discoveries, the bomb was quickly re-submerged by the fisherman and left at Motherbank whilst awaiting bomb disposal to arrive.
