Police established a crime scene outside a property in Ryde this morning (Wednesday) following an incident overnight.
Blood could be seen splattered across the pavement and on a door at St John’s Road, near to the junction with Warwick Street.
Officers were called to the address at around 00:25 following reports of an ‘altercation’, with a cordon remaining in place overnight until forensics attended shortly before 09:30.
Hampshire Constabulary have confirmed that 2 men have been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
A 36-year-old man and a 43-year-old-man sustained injuries and were taken to St Mary’s Hospital, according to Police. Their injuries are not life-threatening.
The duo remain in custody at this time.

Why wait there’s enough here already?
YOU ain’t seen nothing yet, so the song AND reality will prove, but it will then be too late. Whilst those imagine these houses will be filled with their little delights, think again for a massive proportion of the tenancies. Watch, and learn, albeit too late.
Right where a pair of drug dealers live. What a surprise!
Wait for the Hay land teacher to be mentioned! Was he ever done?
Someone got stabbed.. out side ryde hostel in green street shouting about how he stabbed him back after pulling knife out his arm. Lovely people in ryde.
Ah, those delightful ‘homeless’ who are defended by all those who live well away from such when they are eventually ‘housed’
Until then they are all sad victims, UNTIL the naive find that they or their loved ones become ‘their’ victims.
Wake up, see people for what they really are in many cases.
How will 900+ homes for sale create what you have just written? What charity will buy these homes and give them away? You make no sense
I think he meens dole head scroungers
Makes perfect sense to me
I make no sense to you, because you have no sense.
These 900+ homes will be MOSTLY for social housing, FACT.
Those homes are then filled with those who ‘gain’ the most points to be housed, FACT.
Points are gained by various means, overcrowding, those with mental health issues, ex or current drug abusers, similar abusers of alcohol if seen as vulnerable people, ex cons, homeless, single parents with children from several partners, broken home victims, asylum seekers, all ‘seemingly’ to the naive, worthy ’causes’ to be homed (UNLESS they have them living next door to them).
Yet the reality of such points scoring to obtain housing, often, NOT always, but often means that the candidates are anti social tenants because with their reasons for high housing points, OFTEN not always but OFTEN comes trouble.
Zak! Do you think just because you write it down it makes it FACT? Fella you are scaremongering FACT! 900 homes are not being built for social housing never have been never will be. The government doesn’t invest in social housing to that degree and if they did it wouldn’t be on the island. 10% of any housing project must be put aside for social housing by law, that is approximately 90 homes not 900! FACT!
I think zak isn’t far off the mark, as he said the greater proportion will be for social housing, and bullen has already earmarked 70%, and as we know, ONCE permission is given, that figure will rise alarmingly if houses don’t ‘sell’ as happened at Bluebell Meadows, or PAN 2 in real language. With a likely downturn in buyers soon Zak is likely right
So it is you afraid of the truth, vested interest perhaps?
He and you are talking nonsense, these properties will be put on the market like all other new build properties. There is absolutely no way 70% is social housing on any of the new build projects anywhere on the island. That is a fact!
they all end up as social housing – you build 10% as social housing it just cheapens the other 90% – those with a decent bit of cash do not want to live in the same areas as those who are begging off the state.
it is reverse social engineering, instead of lift people out of poverty, drag everyone else down. Yet another pathetic attempt at forcing those with cash to live with those that haven’t. Humans always separate themselves in to the successes and the failures and the two do not live well next to each other.
Totally right. I have seen areas formerly nice places to live, brought down the level of the gutter by having social houses built near them and then the area goes downhill fast, people who can afford to move somewhere better quickly abandon the sinking ship and then more houses get taken over by the trashy types with no respect for the environment, more front gardens destroyed as soon as ignorant types move in, and they all get on so have that camaraderie among themselves as all being members of the lowlife club, noisy, arrogant, foul mouthed, ignorant, drug and drink abusers, environment destroyers, thick as shit and proud of it. This island is rapidly becoming full of them, in fact the whole country is, they have been encouraged to breed even more so constantly increasing their numbers, by this pathetic attitude of the liberal elite who see this scum as worthy causes. They just bring any area down to their scummy ignorant level and decent people who happen to be poor are then suffering, stuck with them and their own mental health deteriorating as end up as the odd one out surrounded by trash. Trash that they can’t escape from.
could not have put it better myself, candy pink – at least someone else sees through this pathetic social engineering by some do gooding, lefty handwringer, that won’t be living in the mess they create.
What ryde such a dump use it as land filled site
What on Earth is happening to our island?
Steve, in a nut shell: Corruption, the UK being a magnet for the worlds impoverished to better it’s life at the expense of all those living here, and greed.
