Bembridge RNLI’s inshore lifeboat launched to assist an unwell fisherman onboard a boat off the coast of the Isle of Wight earlier this morning (Wednesday).
Volunteers launched the D-class lifeboat shortly after 10:30 and proceeded north from Lane End.
It followed reports through Solent Coastguard of an unconscious angler on the 40ft charter angling boat ‘Sea Juicer’.
Within minutes the RNLI crew were alongside the vessel in question. Having assessed the casualty and in conjunction with the duty doctor, it was recommended that the casualty should be brought ashore to be thoroughly checked over, however, as the casualty and the skipper both felt this was unnecessary, the individual was left onboard to continue the fishing trip.
The inshore lifeboat returned to Lane End and was recovered by 11:15.
