APPEAL TO FIND MISSING ISLE OF WIGHT PROFESSOR

missingprofessorrodney2UPDATED: Concerns are growing for the welfare of Island resident Professor Rodney Thompson, who has been missing since early yesterday morning (Sunday).

Prof. Thompson, who suffers with dementia, was last seen leaving Premier Inn at St Pancreas in London at 07:30 yesterday morning. He was on his way to Waterloo train station, to catch a train to Portsmouth or Southampton to return to his home on the Island, however he did not arrive home in the West Wight.

Rodney, 72, is described as white, around 6ft tall and of medium built. He has a fair complexion, mousey brown hair with grey bits and is clean shaven. He is said to have a distinctive ‘unsteady’ walk.

Anyone who has seen Rodney or has any information about his whereabouts is urged to call police on 101 quoting 44150334902. You can also Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.

UPDATE TUESDAY @ 08:50 – Police have confirmed that Prof. Thompson has been found safe and well.

Island Echo understands he was located by a PCSO in Southampton.
