The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance has landed on Ryde Beach this afternoon (Wednesday).
Those watching the Red Arrows aerobatic display over Portsmouth were cleared from the area at just before 16:25 as the yellow and green helicopter touched down.
On board doctors and paramedics have headed East towards Ryde Pier.
UPDATE @ 17:28 – 1 person has been conveyed to St Mary’s Hospital by land ambulance following an incident in the toilets at Western Gardens.
The men’s section of the toilet block has been closed. Police are in attendance.
The air ambulance has now taken off from the beach and is en-route back to base at Andover. The beach was cleared of members of the public with the assistance of Armed Response officers, who have been patrolling Ryde Seafront today.
UPDATE @ 17:43 – Hampshire Constabulary have confirmed that they were called at 16:07 after a man suffered a medical episode – thought to be drugs related.

Is this related to the incident at the public toilets by Ryde Pier Cafe? Two police cars and an ambulance…gents toilet closed off by police!
Drug overdose
It was a drug overdose
What has happened
Another waste of the air ambulances time and money! Not to mention other services.
If someone chooses drugs and overdosed that’s there own problem.
This is someone’s relative & you know nothing about their life or situation
True
Not sure you would say that if that would be your son, brother or friend. Also, shall we stop helping cancer patients if they are smokers, overweighted people etc?

I got told that there was a fight
I videos the helicopter taking off, with armed police standing guard. Most exciting thing to have happened them all day
