UPDATED: The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance has landed at Bembridge Coast Hotel this afternoon (Sunday) – the second time it has been called to the village since Christmas.

The green and yellow helicopter touched down on the hotel’s golf course shortly before 14:30 having been requested at the scene by the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service sometime around 14:00.

HEMS doctors and paramedics are now on the ground at the Warner Leisure Hotel off Lane End alongside a local ambulance crew.

An unwell patient is expected to be airlifted to a mainland hospital shortly.

The air ambulance was called to the same hotel on 27th December.

UPDATE – An elderly woman has been conveyed to Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth.
