The Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance has been scrambled to a medical emergency on the outskirts of Ryde this afternoon (Friday).
Having made its way south from their base at Southampton Airport, the helicopter touched down on the green between Jellicoe Road and Binstead Road.
On the ground, several resources from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service, including a critical care paramedic and operational commander, are present.
Whilst the poorly patient is transferred into the air ambulance, traffic on Binstead Road is building.
Paramedics are diverting traffic around the vehicles.
Motorists are advised of delays in the area for the next 30-minutes or so.

UPDATE @ 14:30 – The air ambulance has lifted off and is conveying a patient to Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth.
Binstead Road is now clear.
