UPDATED: AIR AMBULANCE LANDS IN REMOTE SPOT ABOVE VENTNOR


UPDATE: The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance has landed in a remote spot on St Boniface Down above the town of Ventnor this afternoon (Tuesday).

The life saving charity were called into action by the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service shortly before 14:00, landing on St Boniface Down around 14:20.

Doctors and paramedics are currently attending to a casualty in the Devils Chimney area. The details of their injuries and circumstance are unknown at this time.

Island Echo understands the helicopter tried to land closer to the casualty but was unable to find a suitable location.

UPDATE @ 15:08 – The air ambulance has now lifted off from the highest point on the Isle of Wight and is en-route back to Andover.

The casualty has not been conveyed by the HEMS team.
