The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance has been called to assist local paramedics and firefighters with a medical emergency at a property in Cowes this lunchtime (Saturday).
The green and yellow helicopter touched down at the Moorgreen Road reservoir park at around 11:40.
Flying doctors are currently in attendance alongside the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service at a residential property on nearby Fellows Road having been given a lift by a passing member of the public.
1 fire appliance from the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service is also on scene with firefighters assisting with moving the male casualty from a garden.
The Newport fire crew responded into Cowes at 11:25 following a request for assistance from the ambulance service.
The casualty is to be airlifted to a mainland hospital shortly.
UPDATE @ 12:50 – The casualty – thought to be a tree surgeon – has been airlifted directly to Southampton General Hospital.
The extent of the man’s injuries is unknown. Island Echo is told he fell to the ground.
Energency services have now stood down from the incident.
