The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance has been called into action in Shanklin this evening (Sunday).
The yellow and green helicopter has landed in the playing fields at St Blasius Primary School.
Island Echo understands that doctors and paramedics are attending to a patient at an address on nearby Landguard Road.
The Isle of Wight Ambulance Service requested the assistance of the flying medics shortly before 19:20.
UPDATE @ 20:40 – HIOWAA has now departed the scene and is flying back to base at Andover.
The patient, a male, has been conveyed to St Mary’s Hospital by land.
