The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance is attending an off-road motorcycle crash in a remote area of Lake this lunchtime (Monday).
2 ambulances and a paramedic officer are on scene in fields between Sandown Airport and Shanklin & Sandown Golf Course.
It’s in the vast open area that a young motorcyclist has been injured after colliding with a second motorcyclist.
The incident occurred shortly before 12:30 with the assistance of the air ambulance from Thruxton soon requested by the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service.
Island Echo understands that a group of males were riding ‘scramblers’ on country lanes and footpaths when the collision occurred.
UPDATE @ 13:50 – 1 person has been airlifted to Southampton General Hospital and another is thought to have been taken by road to St Mary’s Hospital, Newport.
The extent of the injuries received is unclear at this time.
Emergency teams are now standing down from the incident.
