The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance has landed at Colwell Common in the West Wight this afternoon (Saturday).
Local paramedics from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service (IOWAS) have met with the helicopter at the landing site just outside of Freshwater.
It’s thought the assistance of the life-saving HEMS team was requested by IOWAS at around 13:40.
UPDATE @ 14:35 – The Air Ambulance has now taken off from Colwell and has conveyed the patient directly to Southampton General Hospital – the region’s major trauma centre.
