Police have arrested a 45-year-old man on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm (ABH) following an incident in Shanklin this morning (Saturday).
A notable number of officers descended on Landguard Road sometime after 09:00 when the control room received reports that a woman had been assaulted.
The front door of a property at the corner of Western Road has been damaged as a result of the incident and since been boarded up.
Police remained in attendance until around 12:30, sparking the interest of locals.
Hampshire Constabulary have confirmed that a 45-year-old man from Shanklin has been arrested on suspicion of ABH. He remains in custody at this time.
