Emergency Services have been called to a minor road traffic collision in Ryde this lunchtime (Wednesday).
Police and firefighters are on scene at Queens Road following a rear-end shunt involving a lorry and 2 cars – a Jaguar and a Skoda.
Traffic is heavy in the area as a result of the collision, with the added factor of temporary traffic lights in place on Pellhurst Road.
Medical assistance is being given to at least 1 person by Ryde firefighters. The Isle of Wight Ambulance Service are not on scene.
Queens Road remains open in both directions with a give/take arrangement in place.
UPDATE @ 12:40 – 1 ambulance and an officer have been mobilised to the scene and are now in attendance.
Fire crews have stabilised the vehicle and are ready to extricate the casualty should the need arise.





























































































This happened behind me on the way to work today. Skoda / Jag slowed down to let a Fiat 500 (i think) turn right off the road before the lights but the truck behind Jag didn’t seem to brake :/
I heard it too… looked in my mirror and saw a bit of the Jag’s rear bumper in the road.Didn’t seem to warrant all that attention…
