Firefighters from Ryde and Ventnor have attended a toaster fire in Lake this morning (Wednesday).
2 appliances were mobilised to Flitcroft Gardens off the main Lake to Shanklin Road at around 11:10.
No firefighting action has been required and 1 of the pumps has now stood down from the incident.
Positive Pressure Ventilation is being used to clear smoke from the residential address.

That’s a lot of hunky firemen for a toaster fire!!!!
Think ill use my old toaster later and see what i can do !!
Positive Pressure Ventilation, is that the technical term for opening a window?
Perhaps Hampshire control could be given a map of the island then they could use the local station and a proportional response. one appliance from shanklin or sandown would have done the job and saved money so the leaking roofs could be repaired.
So, all the time the occupant spent calling the firebrigade and then waiting, they could have simply unplugged the toaster, thrown it out the window and then threw water on it.
