Emergency services have been called to a road traffic collision on St John’s Road in Shanklin this afternoon (Friday).
2 cars are said to be involved in the incident, which has occurred on the busy side road connecting Victoria Avenue to Hatherton Road.
Firefighters from Ryde and Shanklin were initially mobilised to the scene near Victoria Avenue at just before 13:30, but have since been stood down from the incident.
It was initially feared that persons were trapped as a result of the crash, but fire control has confirmed that it is not the case.

perhaps they should build a bypass from Cliff Bridge via Upper Hyde, Sandy Lane & Whitecross Lane, direct to the Aldi roundabout in Lake ?
