A man and a woman have been arrested on suspicion of a string of offences following a disturbance in Ryde last night (Tuesday).
6 Police units responded to the railway bridge on St John’s Road at just after 20:00 following reports of a disturbance.
A 34-year-old woman, from Ryde, was arrested on suspicion of common assault, assaulting a police officer, criminal damage, racially aggravated assault and possession of a class B drug.
A 31-year-old man, from Newport, was also arrested on suspicion of obstructing police and possession of an offensive weapon.
The duo remain in custody and enquiries are ongoing.
I expect the Judiciary on the Island will say please don’t be so naughty BYE BYE.

I doubt very much (OK, a hunch, I confess) whether those involved have any political interest or knowledge. To tar a political party with your understandable anger at these individuals (if guilty!) is illogical, unevidenced and blatantly unreasonable.

I would say that the only thing that these two were carrying that was really offensive, was their personalities, attitudes and continued existence outside of a restrictive environment – such as a jail cell.
