Adults and children of all ages are being invited to try their hand at archery at West Wight Archery Club during Start Archery Week (6th-14th May 2023).
On 8th May, West Wight AC will be hosting its very own Start Archery Week event, inviting locals from across the Isle of Wight to come and have a go. The event will take place Medina Centre and is open to (all ages/anyone aged 12 and up). Booking in advance is required.
Now in its 11th year, Start Archery Week sees archery providers across the country open their doors to potential archers, welcoming people of all abilities to have a go at what is one of the most accessible sports.
Aside from its amazing social appeal, archery has many health benefits for both body and mind, it can help develop physical strength and fitness as well as boost confidence and increase mindfulness.
By enticing new participants to the sport, it is hoped archery’s natural appeal to a wide audience will be evident to everyone involved.
Visitors will be able to have a go at the sport and meet friendly members or coaches to help you shoot. You can also sign up for a beginners’ course and start your archery journey.
