Ventnor Youth FC hosted its largest-ever tournament last weekend, welcoming 29 teams to Watcombe Bottom for 2 full days of football in the sunshine.
Now in its 3rd year, the annual tournament has continued to grow, bringing together boys and girls from across the Isle of Wight to compete in 74 matches across four age categories.
Over 300 children received medals during the course of the weekend. Trophies were also presented to the winners of each group, as well as the winners of the plate competitions.
The results for each age group were:
- U8s winners: Downside
- U8s plate: Gurnard Raptors
- U10s winners: Gurnard Rangers
- U10s plate: Gurnard Cyclones
- U12s winners: Vectis
- U12s plate: Sandown Vipers
- U16s girls winners: Ventnor Bright
- U16s plate: Ventnor Earps
Organisers have hailed the weekend as a great success, with plans already in motion to make next year’s event even bigger.
