Police are seeking witnesses and information after 2 parked cars were damaged in a hit and run smash in Sandown this morning (Saturday). A Renault Clio and a Ford B-Max sustained significant damage following the smash on Broadway overnight. Police have confirmed that the driver of the vehicle involved – a white Iveco van – drove off without stopping. It is understood the incident occurred at around 04:30 this morning. The owner of the 2 vehicles has also issued an appeal for witnesses on the Sandown HUB Facebook page. A Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary spokesperson has said:
“Anyone with information about the collision or the driver of the van should get in touch with police, quoting the reference 431 of today’s date.”

So should not have been parked there in the first place!
If so I doubt the insurers will pay out for being illegally parked.
