The renovation works on the West Wight’s Totland Pier are quickly taking shape with the famous Island landmark soon to be restored to its former glory.
The pier, which was reduced to just its shell back in December 2021, now looks vibrant again with the new restaurant that will be opened at the end looking impressive already.
Built over 2 levels at the end of the pier, the restaurant will be capable of catering to up to 120 customers inside and 100 outside – when the weather allows.
Within the last 2 months, the structure has seen the exterior of the restaurant take shape with doors, windows, and roof added to the majority of the structure – however, an end date has not been named.
The village’s 140m pier had undergone a multi-million-pound renovation, restored where possible and replaced were not – as original features of the historic site look to be salvaged.

Hut Mk 2, I suspect.
Another Hooray Henry palace for the Yachties complete with private moorings, just like the Hut in Colwell.
I think it is brilliant, but just one concern… where will 200 cars park ???
Turf walk and walk down steps ??
New restaurant still being built, but not finished yet.
Nobody on the pier.
Nothing happening yet.
Nothing to see here.
Where’s the news then?
With the Energy crisis coming, no one will be able to afford to eat there.
I don’t the people who will frequent this establishment are worry about fuel bills.
Of course they will, just not locals that live on the island.
Don’t get it – there’s a cafe at the other end! And where do 200 people park?
The Hut maybe not the best employers but they are employees of kids of West wight, just don’t upset them !!
Space for 5 cars to park & nowhere to put more ♂️
